When Laura’s son was three, he started working with an ABA therapist — an amazing woman called Mariana from Thrive. She visited Monday to Friday, a couple of hours each day.

Early on, Mariana used a simple technique: a “box full of gems” — a box packed with toys, trinkets, and little surprises. The moment it appeared, something clicked. Laura’s son lit up. He was focused, excited, and completely engaged.

That moment stuck with Laura. Especially during times when kids couldn’t go to parks or malls and had to stay home — a box like that would have been a lifesaver.

So she made one herself.
